Role-playing wif my World Cup Soccer Babe
Did ya know the New Paper on Saturday has this contest to select a World Cup Soccer Babe? Well, basically girls are featured in a picture, together with a column on what team they support and why they think their ream will win..
Well yesterday's paper featured 3 girls: 1 Ah Lian looking chick, 1 decent-looking NUS undergrad, and 1 CMI (cannot make it)...
Funniest of all was the CMI, who replied to a question on whether she believed Brazil's real strength was their attack:" They have this new player who will surprise everyone this year. His name is Ronaldo."
OMG.
Anyway, i was telling Jamie about this gal and how she was so plain-looking (i'm not being bitchy, seriously, u have to see to believe how CMI she is.) And i was joking that if someone who knows nuts about football and look so ordinary can take part, then my GF should join in the fun...
So me and Jamie started role-playing out (no, not in any kinky way peeps!) a conversation in which she was the potential World Cup Soccer Babe and i was the reporter.
Me: Dear, so who do you think will win the World Cup?
J: Hey, you are a lousy reporter leh, never even ask me what team i support. And where got people call their interviewee 'dear'???"
Me: Okay, Miss Jamie Ong, which team do you support and why do you think it will win the world cup?
J: Hmm, Thailand?
Me: Erm, Miss Jamie, Thailand did not qualify for the World Cup.
J: OK, how bout Poland then?
*seriously, i'm not that sure if Poland DID qualify for the World Cup*
Me: So why do u think they will win?
J: Well, Poland is well- renowned for producing the best grape juice in the world...
Me: Ah huh...
J: So unlike the kids in Brazil who run to school every day, making them strong and healthy footballers when they grow up, the Poland footballers start young by using their feet to squash the grapes in the grape fields every morning, producing the finest grape juice...So they have strong leg muscles and can make a good soccer team!
Me: Erm okie, that was a very enlightening answer...Thanks for coming for the interview Miss Jamie Ong.
J: (laughs) Sure, anyway, this interview is for selecting contestants for The Amazing Race rite???
Chris says:"Never a dull moment when you put me and her together!"
