My New Found Drive

Since i started school properly this week (well, actually last- but we didn't really have any tutorials last week) , i have been filled with this undescribable urge and hunger to acquire new knowledge.

First, let me start off by explaining that in Uni, we are assigned readings so we can prepare for the coming lessons. So, this means that for a total of 5 modules, i got a lot of reading to do!

But strangely, i don't feel intimidated. In fact,for lack of a better explanation, i am devouring all this new information as if i have not studied for two years (this is in fact, true, i REALLY have NOT studied for two years since i was in the army...) Anyway, as i was saying, i find it such a joy to study now. This never happened to me in the past. I used to DREAD studying of any kind. But that's suddenly not the case anymore. Suddenly, i come home everynight and read my notes. I read on the train, in between classes, on the bus...well, basically everywhere.

Maybe, some other guys will understand how i feel.Anyway, i can say that i have never had more sense of direction in life...I finally know what i want to accomplish and i have nothing to distract me. No more track trainings (like my JC days) or soccer at the street soccer court (like my secondary days). This time i hope to put all my energies into something that truly matters to me- my studies.

Anyway, i'm sure people reading this will wonder: Is Christopher Ong becoming a nerd?

Well, i certainly hope not. Afterall, i do hope that i can still enjoy my weekends and some part of my weekdays while continuing to be driven.
