A Tribute To A Red Legend

Roy Keane left The Theatre of Dreams somewhat unceremoniously last Friday.

Never afraid to say what he felt, he finally went, in Ferguson's eyes, a step too far.

And yet, in this era where mercenaries abound in football and a player's loyalty is only as good as the money he is paid, Roy was a hero.

His lung- bursting runs through midfield.

The tackles which gave no inch.

But most importantly, the heart and soul which drove United on.

He was no badge-kissing player but wore his heart on his sleeve.

As a young impressionable boy, I always went for and supported the glamour and glitz of Beckham. The mazy runs of Giggs. But never the hard craft and graft of Keane.

But now, having played football for real myself and understood its intricacies, I have learnt to respect Keane for the fearless leader that he was.

Midfield General. United's driving force (remember Juve in 1999?). Red Legend.

Roy was it all.

KEANE 1992-2005. RED LEGEND. FOREVER.

Thank you.
