Satisfaction!
Let me tell you about satisfaction...
Ever play street soccer? The kind of football that is played in narrow, concrete soccer courts with walls?
Well, this morning, i went down to chai chee for a game of street soccer. The rules were simple- first team to score two goals 1st knocks the other team out, if the game does not end on 7 mins- both teams are out, or if one team is leading after 7mins- the other team is kicked out...
Anyway, the action was fast and furious, and perhaps too aggressive...
There was this one player- a towering giant whom i reckon was at least 1.85m tall, he was big sized too. He seemed to have no concept of the fact tat u kicked the ball in a soccer game and not your opponents legs! Everytime i got the ball, he was on me in a flurry, kicking me from behind everywhere with no intention of aiming at the ball. If i were to put it kindly- he was an ORC..you know the ones Jay Chou sings about in the song "Ban Shou Ren"? And an ugly orc too...
As i played, i wondered to myself, while other Singaporean parents sent their children to the Fandi Ahmad School of Football, did this guy's parents send him to the Orc School of War?
Anyway, i have never been a pushover in soccer, as my friends will tell you, i can hold my own in a skirmish, but i always play fair. I don't believe that you should kick your opponents to win...
Well, anyway it so happened that after 5mins of being kicked around by the Orc and his Ogre buddies, my team were down 1-0 and we were literally being kiced out! But with 1min left, my team-mate scored the equaliser. And in the dying seconds, i scored the winner!
Not the best goal i have ever scored, i admit, but it was definitely worth all the kicking to show you don't need violence to win.
And that, dear readers, is satisfaction.
