Food for Thought...

Was having dinner with two of my closest friends yesterday and had an interesting conversation abt gals and in particular- our girlfriends...

*Note- for privacy purposes, the names of my friends will not be mentioned*

Basically we were talking abt how our girlfriends liked to talk a lot on the fone when my frend,
Pal no.1 said:Yeah man, don't understand why she has to tell me every detail and every minute of what she does everyday...

Me: Wow...u still talk so much after being together for so long??

Pal no.2:Haha, tats tragic...

Pal no.1: But at least i picked up a LEGENDARY skill from all this- its called FILTERING...

Me: What the hecks FILTERING?

Pal no.2: Yeah, wat kinda rubbish is that?

Pal no.1 (sounding proud and full of himself):
Heh,basically tat's when u learnt to switch ur brain off and juz hear the bits of the conversation tat are interesting, while diverting away the boring bits with the occasional grunt...

Me: Tats impressive!

Pal no.2 (in an even cockier, u-can't-beat-me kind of tone):
Well, having known my girlfriend longer, we've come to an accord. Everytime i'm tired, all i gotta say is "Dear, i'm tired and hafta sleep now" and she'll automatically end the call...

And after tat rather insightful talk with my friends, i thought of this article i saw the other day in a newspaper, about the Right and Wrong ways for a man to end a conversation with his girlfriend...

First the WRONG way:

Man: Dear, I realli like talking to you but i'm tired and i nd to sleep now...

Woman: Its okie darling, i understand u nd ur rest...

Man: R u sure?

Woman: Sure.....Go and take a gd nap...

But 5mins later-----The fone rings again!

Woman: Do u find me boring?

Man: No dear...y would u tink so?

Woman: Well, u juz said u didn't wan to talk to me anymore and wanted to sleep instead...

Man: But u said i can go and rest wat...

Woman: Now u r making excuses, if u find me boring juz say so!

And now the RIGHT way:

Man: Dear, i love you and i realli want to talk to you forever but...

Woman: Its ok darling, u r tired right?

Man: Yes dear, but if u wan to talk somemore, i can sacrifice my sleep...

Woman: No problem, gd nite and pleasant dreams darling.

Man: K, i luv u...
